With so much on my plate in terms of Third Eye Games work for February and March, i haven’t really said much. This, i apologize for, since i know i have the entire world reading my blog (yeah right). I wanted to let you know some of the things that i’ve been busy working on.
– For Third Eye Games, i’ve been working on writing/editing/layout for Wu Xing: The Firebrands. Working with new writers and incredible artists is really awesome.
– Allergies have been a bitch and have been taking me out of commission too much regularly. I went to bed at 9:30 last night! What the hell is that?!?!?!?
– In the middle of all of this, i’m in the middle of moving. My girlfriend of quite a while has graciously agreed to live with me and we’re finally moving into our new apartment next week. Frantic packing and moving has been interjected into my regular writing schedule.
Here i am thinking that it may be time to let you all in on my little secret for productively. It’s not taking meth or speed or crack. Crack is wack anyway. Neither is it the thing you hear all the time “stay diligent”. That is easier said than done in some cases.
No, it is something a lot easier done. In short “Write when you can”.
In the last few weeks, i have written every moment that i’ve had the time to do it, since i have had less time to just sit down and concentrate. I wrote 200 words after breakfast then went to work. I wrote 300 words on my lunch break. After work, i edited my 500 words down to 400 and then after dinner wrote another 200 words until it was time to pack and move. It’s not a lot of words, but it’s more than i would have written if i had used my busy lifestyle as an excuse. There are no excuses for not writing. Even if you don’t have a computer, write it with pen and paper. No paper? Your arm will do. No arms or hands? Record it via audio.
Until next time.
