Killzone: Mercenary: Overview Friv Game
There are not many first-person shooters on the PS Vita platform. Offhand, you can remember only tolerable Resistance and quite a disastrous Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified . The developers at Guerrilla Cambridge decided to fix the Vita’s unsettled relationship with the shooters. Killzone: Mercenary was supposed to be a full-fledged shooter for a portable platform without any gameplay or graphic simplifications. Play best friv games this website.
main pride is its visual component. Despite the fact that the performance of Vita for natural reasons is somewhat lower than that of its “adult” sister, the appearance of the Killzone: Mercenary is not much inferior to the third part. And it is not surprising, because both projects are based on one engine. High resolution textures, excellent depth of lighting, high-quality shadows and the effects of explosions - you often wonder how a small console is able to reproduce this beauty. After all, with all this, the frame rate does not suffer at all, the game does not slow down, even when quite large-scale spaces are opened in front of the camera. And there are a lot of those in Mercenary All locations are made in the traditional for Killzone industrial style. The levels, though linear, are divided into large open areas filled with patrolling opponents. The developers maximally expanded the space in order to make possible several styles of transmission - they attached elements of stealth to the project. It turned out quite primitive and rude: shadow hide-and-seek is impossible here, and crawling past ten enemies unnoticed, each time waiting for the bastard to turn his back on you to slip past him, is quite boring. It is better to raise the alarm and quickly kill reinforcements.
However, secretive murders look quite impressive. We can easily eliminate the enemy near us in a melee by driving a knife into any part of his body. The Vita touch screen is responsible for the execution of the finishing moves - at the moment of execution, time slows down, an arrow appears over the enemy, and we have to use our finger on it. No sooner - get a butt on the kidneys and bullets to boot. In general, the traditional way of settling conflicts is much nicer and more efficient. This is facilitated by intuitive control, which you quickly get used to.
In general, the dynamics of the gameplay compared with other games Killzone has increased significantly. At the same time, we have to fight with a dozen opponents, among whom there are both ordinary rank and file and thick flamethrower and flying drones. Easy to sit in the shelter will not succeed - the villains are smart enough to bypass us from the flanks. Nevertheless, fights lack hardcore: our health is restored automatically, most of the enemies fall dead from a single "headshot". Despite all this, the meaning in stealth passage still remains: secretive "fatalities" bring in more revenue, and money in Killzone: Mercenary play, if not a key, then a significant role.
The plot explains the reasons for the similar commercialization of the gameplay. DevelopmentsMercenary occur immediately after the first part. This time we will be in the shoes of a simple mercenary Arran Danner, who cares first of all about his own financial well-being, and not about the outcome of the war. Heroes are only interested in highly paid contracts of any degree of difficulty - no matter who they enter into. In the course of the game, we will visit both Vekte and Helgan, fight for ISA and Helgasti. Yes, mercenaries are unprincipled people: the one who pays the most is the one who orders the music. For the first time we will be able to look at the war from the other side of the front.
Here we get money for everything: for killings, for collecting ammunition, for the distance traveled. Earned money can be spent in small shops scattered on the cards. The game has a fairly long list of "guns" and armor with their own characteristics. The hero’s arsenal includes a pistol, a main weapon, grenades and a VAN-Guard system — mounted on Danner’s wrist, the CCP, through which a guy can work on amazing wonders. So, we can take control of a flying drone, capable of quickly and quietly eliminating a dozen enemies; order an air strike; shoot the enemy unit with rockets. The latter ability uses the Vita display - enemies that are in our field of vision are marked with red circles; in order to launch a rocket at one of them, you need to "poke" a finger at it.
In general, Mercenary actively uses the touch screen. In addition to the above examples, we will need it in order to change weapons, pick up ammunition, and pick locks. The last procedure is a mini-game in which in the allotted time we have to make up the figure proposed to us from the triangles. Not too original, but for solved puzzles also give a reward.
All unlocked uniforms in the single-player campaign become available in multiplayer. Thus, the developers tried to connect both modes of Mercenary : even while remaining offline, the player continues to “pump” his character and prepare him for fights on the Web.
An interesting feature of the multiplayer component is the card system. Every day we receive a card from the deck, reflecting our professional level. She gives certain bonuses to the "salary" both in the single-player campaign and online. By killing opponents and taking away their cards, we can make poker combinations that generate huge cash income.
Multiplayer is represented by three modes, one of which we have already managed to play. Outwardly, the quite normal command deathmatch has important features that seriously affect the tactics of combat. Ampoules containing the VAN-Guard weapon, which we have already mentioned, are scattered around the map. Capturing one of them gives the team significant advantages, allowing you to get a couple of “frags” without risking your life. There is no need to be afraid of imbalance: VAN-Guard recharging takes a long time.
Mercenary - perhaps the best shooter on PS Vita. Excellent graphics and dynamic gameplay squeeze out all the juice from the “iron” filling of the console. Nevertheless, if we evaluate the new Killzone out of context and compare it with the heavyweight representatives of the genre, we have a rather ordinary project that is not able to surprise or boast any original ideas. But be that as it may, we received a full-fledged continuation of the Killzone for the pocket console.
Pros: great for PS Vita graphics; fascinating "economy", tying together multiplayer and "single"; abundance of weapons.
Cons: the game is original and interesting only as a representative of the genre on Vita.
