CSI: Fatal Conspiracy: Friv Overview
If you feed a person with the same delicious dish every day, for example, for a year, by the end of the term the consumer will develop an aversion to the product, no matter how beautiful it is. Axiom, understandable even to a student, is not it? Play the best website friv games.
Many developers of computer games, apparently, are not familiar with this thesis. Otherwise, why would they “feed” the player, albeit with high-quality, but identical episodes from time to time? Surprisingly, even the Telltale Games studio could not overcome the temptation. The new detective from the CSI series does not hide his relationship with previous releases.
Actually, in the strict sense of the word, Fatal Conspiracy is not an adventure game, but a collection of adventure games. Five different stories, a first-person view, a meticulous and realistic recreation of a detective’s work with all its pros and cons.
All five stories are unlikely to honor Agatha Christie . No matter how the investigation process is captured, the illusion under the slogan “I am a real detective, I control the situation” disappears as soon as we begin to get to the end of each case. We really have no choice. We can’t not only send to jail or at least arrest an innocent, but even suspect anyone other than a criminal - everything is too obvious.
And the circle of potential attackers is very narrow. It’s great when, during the investigation of the causes of the fire, the spa suddenly finds out that a girl was baked alive in healing mud. That is, do not get it wrong: awful, of course. But from the point of view of the scenario - a good move. How many guesses could be built around this story if there were only two suspects. And if the killer did not spin like in a frying pan during any attempt to make contact with him.
However, perhaps the creators of the game simply tried to maintain the spirit of the original source. Detective television series rarely boast of unusual stories. And the finals are often "a little predictable."
The gameplay is also not particularly surprising. Like last time, we are doing all that routine, which, in theory, should be carried out by criminal investigators every day. We collect fingerprints, DNA samples, study the traces and compare them with the soles of the shoes. All this is pretty exciting in itself and immerses the atmosphere of the police department. For the first time.
But to perform the same actions for the tenth time is not the best occupation. Moreover, the routine actually turns out to be a routine. The constant mini-games help to determine the coincidence of fingerprints, the chemical composition of substances, to compare among themselves the potential tools of villainous labor. But this is not the most unpleasant. Worse, the very algorithm for extracting evidence does not change from case to case, nor does the type of evidence. From time to time we sculpt casts of broken doors, windows, broken locks. Again and again, we have to remove the “fingers” of witnesses and analyze the traces of shoes. It is not clear - are all the killers so stupid that they are not able to at least wipe the floor or level the ground, knowing that the crime scene will be visited by search professionals, for whom the trace is one of the most important clues?
A similar situation is with blood. Here comes the police in the office to the immediate boss of the guy thrown out of the balcony. Uncle is struggling to create an alibi for himself. So is he really unaware that the bloodied computer keyboard is just a godsend for the investigator? And, most importantly, how, standing two meters from the victim’s blood-stained device, he can answer the question “what kind of blood?” Something like “Oh, I don’t know, probably it spilled out of the victim.”
On the other hand, interrogation scenes are dynamic, dramatic, and very vividly characterize witnesses. Each time we look forward to the moment when we can finally stop comparing the hammer with broken glass and call another suspect. At least all these guys are different, completely different from each other.
An important role in the humanization of characters is played by facial expressions. In the latest issue of detective stories, she is as beautiful as in the previous one. We immediately understand that the hairdresser from the first episode is scared, he is really very depressed. A businessman from the second story is, on the contrary, a sort of tough nut that will defend itself to the last. It is a pity that the expression on the face so often betrays criminals with a head. Yes, sometimes the study of facial expressions is too good.
Graphics from the "last time" has not changed at all. We are still studying seemingly three-dimensional locations, which are actually only partially three-dimensional. From certain points, a circular view is really available to us. But, firstly, not from everyone, and secondly, even the ability to look left-right does not provide complete freedom of movement if you can not raise and lower your head.
Among other things, the world around is not always friendly and sometimes shows its true pixel hunting face. Sometimes you have to repeatedly examine the area from all sides and angles in order to accidentally stumble on a tiny hair - the most important evidence containing the criminal's DNA. This is sad. Indeed, from the point of view of logic, we always understand what needs to be done next. If we did not have to examine each bush for microscopic evidence, the gameplay would be very simple and intuitive.
If at first glance CSI: Fatal Conspiracy seems no better than CSI: Deadly Intent , then upon closer examination it becomes clear: the new set of stories is significantly inferior to last year. A much less interesting scenario, combined with the already slightly bored gameplay, reliably remove the game from the list of successful adventure games of 2010.
Pros: high-quality facial expressions; dynamic dialogs.
Cons: uninteresting stories; predictable finals; pixel hunting logical "mistakes"; monotony of gameplay.
