Sinister RPG is the newest in the line of games developed for Third Eye Games. For this one, you get to come along for the ride.
As discussed, the splats for Sinister are going to be split up into the different nations. Each one with their own advantages and disadvantages.
The first nation that I’m revealing is one of my favorites so far. It’s called Shadow Valley, because it is the decimated ruins that lie directly beneath Cloud Nation. Looking up, they see the dirty bottom surface of the Cloud Nation, avoiding debris, garbage and refuses that falls from up above. The sun is often blocked, leaving Shadow Valley darkened the majority of the time – just great for the constant gang fights, assassinations and drug trafficking that occurs every day. The surrounding nations decided to use Shadow Valley as a place to exile their worst criminals, making it notoriously the most dangerous place on the continent. Living in this part of the world is like forever fighting for your life and the children born here grow up with a survival instinct that trumps others. The monster types that’ll live here would be those that are nocturnal or accustomed to darkness, as well as those that reflect survival, like insect types.
The way I see it, this type of character is going to be hella-fun to play. They’ve live a hard life, constantly having to look over their shoulder – horrible when you live in the one place where human life is seldom treasured. There are a lot of skills one can learn when they have to live by their wits, as well.
Possible Character Creation Options
- Skill bonus: Definitely in the range of a bonus to their Survival or Sneakiness type skills
- Monster bonus: As a reflection of being able to survive against all odds, I’m considering extra health for the monsters or possibly some ability to absorb damage.
- Social Penalty: I’m thinking a natural distrust of others would be opportune for this splat type, but I’ll work more on it as I flesh this out a bit more.
