Pulling an All-Day-er
This Sunday I did something I haven’t done in a bit (especially since i’ve been married) – I worked a whole day, front to back on Third Eye Games. It’s a sight to behold and really kind of happened by accident. I woke up at 7:30am because my internal alarm clock is still set to “having kids” time. This weekend was one where they were at their mom’s, but my body wasn’t hearing that. So, I got up and sat at my computer, threw on some Regular Show and continued work on Apocalypse Prevention, Inc. – Savage Worlds Edition I had started on Saturday. My wife was sleeping in and writing/editing/layout/whatever has a way of allowing me to disregard my body’s urges like hunger or thirst and just work.
Before I knew it, it was noon. Wait, what, noon? My original plan was to work for an hour and then slack off with some Civilization V, but here it is being all Noon and junk. My wife pat me on the head and made me a light lunch, then I went back to work. I was getting so close to the end that it didn’t make sense to stop. Then it was about 5pm. I needed to take a quick break to clean the house a little and help my wife put away the groceries, then it was back to work.
I am happy to say that as of 11pm yesterday, Savage API is ready to go. I just need to put some bookmarks in the PDF it can be released to the masses. All because of that All-Day-er of 13.5 hours of writing. I used to do these all the time, so it’s a nice feeling to know I can still push myself like this. Just thought i’d share.
Until next time!
