Combat vs. Utilitarian (Sinister RPG)
Sinister RPG is the newest in the line of games developed for Third Eye Games. For this one, you get to come along for the ride.
I’ve been working quite a bit behind the scene with our artist, David Bednar, in working up cool monsters for the setting. The biggest thing that I want to point out is that not ALL the monsters will be primed for pure, focuses combat. While some monsters will be pretty ravenous and able to deal tons of damage, it’s important to me to make balanced monsters that actually hold some sort of other purpose other than just to beat other monsters up.
The idea behind this is that you, as a trainer, could have a few monsters with different purposes. Just think of it, you are sneaking into a building and summon your monkey-like monster that knows how to unlock any door, then you get in and find what you need, but you trip the alarm. Now you have to summon your fighting monster long enough to hold off the guard and make it to door, where you then summon your fast travel monster to get the hell out of there. To me, this is what will make Sinister truly stand out. It’s not just “monster fighting”, it’s on another level.
